Sunday Breakfast @ Kampar Old Town Market

Well well well

It's Sunday Morning !

Since our childhood, it's always about the town market.

We used to accompany our moms for fresh supplies.

And yes, Kampar's one and only market we were at.

Imagine how it looks like when almost whole population of Kampar residents have their very first meal of the day.

Loaded with different group of peoples.

Oldies, 60's, Teenagers and also children.

Children run around and scream, then mother shouting for their kids

Hawkers shouting for the orders collected.

Familiar huh?

We all like the food market, aren't we?

Food stalls all over the large area

But one thing teenagers almost dislike about is jangling with the people and NOISE, especially

Anyway, 

too many stalls, too many same foods, different taste, though.

All I like about is this, 叉烧糯米饭

And this, my favorite.

I am the regular customer already.

Get this EVERY TIME I came here.

Never missed a time, seriously. Haha

Should really taste this if you ever visited the market.

咸鱼炒蛋米

Fried  meehoon served with salted-fish, where the chinese like the most.

It tastes simply the best like you're gonna eat up the whole plate too.

*exaggerating again, oops!

The Imperials Restaurant @ Kampar

Caption: Somebody in red over there. We're the first customer of the day !

Location: In the middle of old town and new town.

Nearest landmark: 菊姐茶餐室 (Another popular restaurant)

To all food lovers,

Very sorry that I was away these few days due to examination.

But, of course, even how much we cared about the exam,

we still gotta fill our tummies, our taste buds !

During the busy period, I still get to captured a lot of nice foods,

just to wait for today, to recommend.

Even I tried very hard searching for great foods, there are still some limitations,

regarding to financial problems.

Couldn't go for air-conditioned restaurant or whatever that are costful.

Even though I am not facing this problem, I'd still chose to talk about 'the people' foods, rather than the 'King' foods.

To be clear,

although this restaurant is named to be emperor's,

they cooked like emperors but they serve for peoples.

Interesting huh?

Only 2 of us are eating, so we couldn't order a lot.

Just 3 of these today.

芙蓉蛋

-- a very simple dish that you'd thought that'll be very simple.

As I said," foods are to be tasted, not to be heard, or seen only ".

Hmmmm yummy yummy...

2nd dish.

 The Grilled Chicken served with Pandan leaves and gravy.

Now this is interesting, guys.

It tasted like Belacan Chicken, but you'd find difference when you mix it with the Pandan gravy.

Served with claypot, where the heat stays inside longer that usual to keep the fresh taste.

Chinese likes hot dishes, NO?

I say, YES! DEFINITELY!

Especially when it hurts your tongue.

Dear says I ate like a person that has been jailed for a thousand years and has not been tasted any foods since a thousand years ago.

Havana Tomyam Seafood Restaurant @ Kampar

Hey guys,

Another little recommendation over here.

Have you seen this restaurant before?

Even you haven't seen Havana, you probably know what kind of food this kind of restaurant will sell.

So you'd also probably think nothing's special over here.

Yea, perhaps there's nothing special with the look of the restaurant.

It's just an ordinary Malay restaurant, indeed.

But it's weird.

Friendss & I like to come here during midnight - 4am this period.

If you're a kamparians, you'd know how boring Kampar at night.

No entertainments, except movies and games from our own laptop.

So what else can we do here?

We spend a lot of time chit-chating with friends.

We stay up late, usually.

Then this ordinary Malay restaurant just fairly fit our yumcha location.

Where it has tasty Tomyums, Maggi Goreng, Kuey Teow Goreng,

What else?

Seafood they have !

Unfortunately, this is not the plate of my dish,

I barely tried this kind of creature that stays under the mud

What to do?

I just stare them lick the thing.

Okay,

they then suck their fingers and face me

"Mmmm"

So sorry, I didn't get affected.

I just don't like the taste, no matter how tasty you described.

Friends who like this kind of mussels or lala? or whatsoever, try here.

Soy-sauced chicken rice

You wouldn't believe how good it smells.

Especially you're in an empty stomach.

All that you can do is to open your mouth wide, move your left right hands then chew as fast as you can.

You just can't stop saying : Mmmmmmm

If you ever tasted home-made dishes by Penang Lang,

You'd probably know how the feel feels like.

Penang hawker foods are tasty, yes indeed.

While

Penang Home-made dishes are FANTASTIC.

Cause the chef of Charlie Boy is my Auntie. The Boss is my cousin.

Awesome right?

They are just as food-fastidious as me.

So what they cooked, probably fits your tongue :D

Not to mention about the main dishes

they have a lot of desserts, too.

To jot down every great foods I tasted before, I finally decided to create another blog specifically for great foods !

TO Kampar food lovers.

You probably have tasted this.

But for those who doesn't know, or newbies to Kampar.

I suggest you to try this.

东坡肉

near KTAR Kampar.

Opposite the apartment, Pangsapuri Sutera

They actually have a various kind of dishes but this is the main recommended dish.

The price is reasonable, of course.

RM6 for one claypot plus a bowl of rice

And if you are lucky enough, I mean if you are the early birds

You probably will get a free home-made soup and veges, which is FANTASTIC !

No lies !

The veges is self-invented.

SO you probably won't have the chance to taste in anywhere.

After that, I tried this

梅菜扣肉

I believe you heard about this dish before.

But you wouldn't believe how tasty this could be compared to the others.

What should I say?

Same name, but different taste achieved.

Super super fantastic.

 You wouldn't forget the taste. You even get addicted after your first try.

Cause my dear is one of the addicts.

He goes there whenever he is unload,

I mean whenever he is starving.

Cause I know people requests great food when they starve for a whole day

if you ate something bad when you are starving,

you probably get mad and feel like want to kill.

*I'd be like this. So better make me something good, when I'm hungry.

Haha

Furthermore, there are still a lot of types of amazing food.

I just get to tried this two the other day.

Will update more when I go there again.

But it'll be very soon.

Cause we all starve and crave for great foods everyday !

I came to the same place again.

As I mentioned, we are the addicts here.

We crave, almost every afternoon.

It's the best meal for lunch, I guess :)

They give out free cabbages and soup everyday
But it is all while stock lasts.
You got here earlier, you got the free gift.
Considered early bird gift huh? :)

We got a new dish too, but it is just too oily that I don't even bother to capture near.
So, that's what we ordered for the day.
